Colorado School District gets bailout from State Board of Education

 

South Routt RE No. 3 School District received a million dollar bailout from the Colorado Board of Education after Peabody Energy failed to make a property tax payment.  Peabody Energy, which owns Twentymile Coal Company in the county, has filed for bankruptcy protection in April.

The State Department of Education voted to utilize funds from its emergency fund to assist the District.
